Why Halloween?

Halloween is all about fun, dressing up, decorating etc. Jack O’ Lanterns from Christy’s Nursery can be decorated any way you like. Each Jack O’ Lantern has a hat so a candle could be put inside to help those trick or treating find you better. I am including in this post some history on Halloween. Hope you enjoy.

In Christian times, it became a celebration of the evening before All Saints’ Day. Immigrants from Scotland and Ireland brought the holiday to the United States. The commercialization of Halloween started in the 1900s, when postcards and die-cut paper decorations were produced.
In North America, trick-or-treating has been a Halloween tradition since the late 1920s. In Britain and Ireland the tradition of going house-to-house collecting food at Halloween goes back at least as far as the 16th century, as had the tradition of people wearing costumes at Halloween.
Today children of all ages dress up in costumes and travel from house to house to receive treats in response to their call of “trick or treat!” The phrase is a subtle suggestion that if a treat (like candy) is given, then the child will not perform a “trick” (mischief) on the owner of the house.
If you want to be the favorite house on your block this year, consider stocking up instead on these 10 best candies:
